When trying to achieve that dewy Korean makeup look, AprilSkin is the product for you. From StyleKorean “As the beginning of Spring, April is seen as a time of new life being born. AprilSkin symbolizes the radiant skin that’s beautiful like the sunny days in Spring.” This brand really does achieve this leaving its consumers with radiant and dewy skin. I have been using two different cushion compacts from AprilSkin – the Magic Snow Fixing Foundation #23 and the Magic Snow Cushion Pink #02 in Green. I use the green cushion compact first as the green helps neutralize the redness I have in my skin and leaves my skin dewy and almost iridescent. Then lightly pat on the fixing foundation on top. Because both the products are lightweight it doesn’t feel as if I’m layering makeup on top of my skin.
The Magic Snow Cushion comes in four separate colors, all of which help brighten and neutralize your complexion. I opted for the green cushion as I have hyperpigmentation and scarring, so the green really helped to reduce facial redness and cover up the scarring. The other three colors AprilSkin offers are purple, beige and pink. The purple cushion helps balance yellow skin tones and covers up any blemishes you have. The beige cushion evens out your skin tone while brightening up dull skin. Lastly, the pink cushion is perfect for those with paler skin as the pink adds some warmth to your skin tone. All four colors help protect against UV rays as there is SPF50+ in the cushion. Yay for SPF!!!
The Magic Snow Fixing Foundation comes in three different shades #21 which is a lighter shade, #22 which is a pinker shade and #23 which is more beige. The foundation shades get darker as the numbers increase. The Magic Snow Fixing Foundation cushion provides more coverage than a standard cushion compact because actual foundation is used as opposed to a BB or CC cream, however it is more lightweight than regular foundation you’d get in the States. It provides the perfect amount of coverage and has a barely there feel on my skin. This foundation compact is made with green tea, cherry blossom and camellia extract—which all play a part in protecting your skin.
In addition to the two compact products, I was also able to test out not one but two different bold lip products from the Fixing Tint range. The two red colors I tested out were Tomato Lady and Bloody Mary. Tomato Lady had a more orange tone to the red and Bloody Mary had a more “blood red” tone. Even though these are tints the formula is a lot thicker than a normal tint formula but it’s not as thick as a liquid lipstick. I put the Bloody Mary Fixing Tint up to the food challenge and needless to say it survived. I was able to eat an entire bagel and a Korean BBQ dinner with the Fixing Tint staying put.
