Let's go back to 7th grade science class when we learned about atoms, protons, electrons and neutrons. Free-radical damage occurs when an atom is missing an electron and it tries to replace the missing electron by grabbing onto an electron from you skin. When this happens the effects are quite damaging. Damage can happen in many different forms, from developing hyperpigmentation (discoloration in you skin tone), bursted blood vessels, loss of collagen and weakened and broken down skin. Simply put free-radical damage is bad and ages you.
I first heard about SkinCeuticals this year and after doing some research I was hooked, I had to get my hands on this product. Living in SoCal something all SoCal residents should be concerned about is free-radical damage. Free-radical damage is more prevelant in areas that are more susceptible to environmental and air pollution. In doing research on the products that best combat free-radical damage the first one every list I found was SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic. I chatted with a girlfriend about this product and she assured me it was as amazing as I had read and worth every cent. I'm gonna be honest, this product is not cheap. It's not like La Mer expensive but will still cost you a pretty penny. Good news though, it's available on SkinStore.com and they are always running some sort of specials and deals, so sign up for their mailing list and who knows you may even be able to save some $$$. The SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic is also an Allure Magazine Best in Beauty winner, not once, not twice but three times. It's totally worth the price tag.
Within the first couple weeks of use, I noticed a drastic difference. I normally hate saying that because I feel like your skin needs a full 28 days to get used to and see results from a new skincare product. The average skin cycle is 28 days, so I feel thats the minimum your skin needs to react to a product. But this product has me totally convinced. I haven't seen any of those tiny pimples, I get every so often from dust, smoke, poor air quality, long nights out, etc. and I've barely had any breakouts. The only "breakouts" I've notice are hormonal. I usually get 2 or 3 new pimples a couple days before my period. I don't expect any skincare product to fix that cause that's just how my body and skin have been wired for as long as I can remember.
The C E Ferulic is a great preventative skincare product jam packed with antioxidants which work to neutralize free-radical damage and restore loss of collagen. This tiny little protect provides 8x's the aging protection than your own skin. No wonder it's currently my go-to skincare product. People think I'm crazy that I worry about aging and wrinkles at my age. (I'm in my late twenties for those wondering) But wrinkles have always been a thing for me, I feel like they make me look so much older, so aging is a huge concern for me. Which is why I started getting botox injections in my forehead and glabella about two years ago. But then again, I'm Korean, I'm probably gonna look like I'm 19 years old for the next 35 years. This products has quite easily become my cannot live without skincare product.
How to Use:
Once a day, in your AM skincare routine use the C E Ferulic right after cleansing. (This product is best used in combating free-radical damage and unless you camping in the street of DTLA, you're probably not gonna have too much free-radical concerns in the comfort of your own home) I use about 4 drops combined on my face and neck. This product is instantly absorbed into your skin so it can't be washed off. Even though it can't be washed off, I like to wait till it's nice and dry before I put on the rest of my serums and ampoules. And BAM just like that your skin is protected for the day. But don't forget the sunscreen. You should never forget the sunscreen.
