My best friend Amanda Nguyen of Feast.Fashion.Faves hosted a Prom Project Charity Event with and the YWCA of North Orange County. It was such a great way to give back to the Orange County Community. In short, the Prom Project collects gently used prom/cocktail dresses which in turn allows high school seniors that don't necessarily have the same advantages and opportunities as their classmates to come and "shop" for dresses, shoes and accessories for their prom night. At that age, prom is everything. It's an important right of passage in our culture and every girl should be able to experience it in the most magical way.

I am beyond proud of my bestie for helping to put on such a great cause. It was an afternoon full of fun, laughter and heartfelt moments. It really feels great to #PayItForward. You can do the same... The Prom Project is always accepting new donations and well as volunteer hours. Be sure and check out their website.

I decided this event was a perfect event for getting all pretty for prom. I opted for a lilac colored dress, a statement necklace and some fun frilly shoes. While this dress may not be as dressy as a prom dress, it sure is perfect for all the summer parties headed your way. It was light and breezy with some fun bell sleeves. Even better the dress was less than $40. YES!
